Blackford Historical Society was formed in 2001 and aims to promote awareness and understanding of the local history of Blackford and the surrounding area.    The Society holds a regular programme of events throughout the year and gladly welcomes members and non-members to attend.

Invites you to commemorate the 300th Anniversary of “The Burning of Blackford by the Jacobites in 1716”.

The programme of events will take place on Saturday 23rd January 2016 in the Games Park.

1.00pm – See the Jacobite Soldiers of 1715-1716 uprising.
1.00pm – Strathearn Pipe Band
1.45pm – Strathearn Pipe Band
2.30pm – Re-enactment of the Burning of Blackford
3.00pm – Soup, Tea, Coffee and Biscuits in the Church Session House

The following events will take place in Blackford Parish Church

3.30pm – Blackford Sings
3.55pm – Blackford Fiddle Group

7.00pm – Daoine Sith Presents – The Jacobites in Story and Song

Entry will be by donation.
